Why schools choose it

Teachers approve every mark

Work is auto-graded the moment it is submitted, but nothing reaches a student or a parent until the teacher has looked at it and released it. Auto-release is available per assignment when a class is ready for it.

Your questions stay yours

Teachers set work from the Star Elements question bank, from questions they write themselves, or both in one assignment. Anything a teacher authors is stored separately and is never added to the shared bank.

One sign-in, the right portal

Staff, students and parents sign in at the same place and land in the portal their role gives them. A teacher who is also a parent switches between the two without a second account.

Built for centers as well as schools

Rolling enrollment, batches that mix grade levels, and per-learner billing are first-class — not a school timetable bent into shape. The vocabulary changes to match.

Parents see progress, not raw data

Guardians get their own portal showing released work and upcoming deadlines for their own children, with no access to anyone else in the class.

Isolation enforced by the database

Every row carries its school, and the rules separating one from another live in PostgreSQL itself rather than in application code. A query that forgets to filter returns nothing.

Five portals, one platform

Everyone signs in at the same address. What they see is decided by their role, not by a separate login.

Teachers
Plan lessons, set and review work, write class notes, and message students and parents.
Students
See what is due, work through it, and read feedback once a teacher has released it.
Parents & guardians
Track released work and deadlines for their own children.
Administrators
Schools and centers alike: add staff and students, build the timetable, manage registers and see every message sent.
Front of class
A projector-ready lesson view for teaching to the whole room.

The tier is set by how many students you subscribe in a month and moves with you: cross 20 and every student is at the Pro rate, not just the ones above the line. There is no free plan; the $29.99 sign-up is what makes a pilot a real one. Districts and groups with more than 500 learners are quoted individually.

About us

Star Elements began as a place for students to practice on their own, at starelements.ai — California curriculum-based K-12 Math and English, SAT and ACT prep, and live tutoring. Teachers kept asking the same question: could their class use it together, with the teacher setting the work and seeing how it went? This is that.

We are small, and we build for the person in the room. That shows up in decisions that look fussy on a feature list and matter on a Tuesday afternoon: a grade never reaches a child before the teacher has seen it; a question a teacher writes belongs to their school and goes nowhere else; a parent sees their own child and no one else’s.

We also try to be honest about what is not built yet. Ask whether we do something and you will get a straight answer and a date, rather than a demonstration of something adjacent.

The same lessons, practice and tests that power starelements.ai are included for every student on every plan, through their own login — so a student who used Star Elements at home meets the same material in class.

Built for the questions your DPO will ask

The school stays the controller

Star Elements processes student data on the school’s instructions under a Data Processing Agreement. We do not sell it and we do not advertise to students.

Access, portability, erasure

Requests under GDPR and CCPA are logged against a statutory deadline and answered with a machine-readable export. Erasure removes the person from the record while leaving the academic history the school is required to keep.

Consent for younger students

Where COPPA applies, consent is recorded against each student with who gave it, when, and on what basis — and withdrawal is recorded rather than erased.
